James Rodriguez could be fit for Real Madrid's Club World Cup campaign

James Rodriguez could still feature in the Club World Cup, despite initial fears he would be ruled out through injury.

The Real Madrid midfielder has a problem in his right calf muscle, but was able to train at Valdebebas prior to Los Blancos departing for Morocco, where the competition is being held.

However, he was working on his own, as opposed to with his teammates.

Carlo Ancelotti continues to believe the Colombian international will be fit to play some part in the tournament, with Madrid likely to play two matches.

First up they play Mexican side Cruz Azul in the semifinal on Tuesday, although FIFA have been forced to switch the match from Rabat to Marrakech.

The Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat took a battering from the rain during Saturday's quarterfinal and has been deemed unplayable.

FIFA released the following statement:

"Due to difficult pitch conditions at the Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah Rabat, the FIFA Organising Committee has decided after consultation with the Local Organising Committee (LOC) to play match 4 (Cruz Azul v Real Madrid) in Marrakech and not in Rabat as previously scheduled. The match will kick-off on Tuesday 16 December at 1930 local time."

Ancelotti's side are searching for their 21st straight win in all competitions and a place in the final, where they would meet either Auckland City or San Lorenzo.
