Isco: Madrid's problems not the fault of James Rodriguez and me!

Isco denies Real Madrid's problems this season are solely down to him and James Rodriguez.

The two attacking midfielders have often been used as the symbols of Madrid's up and down form this season.

Zinedine Zidane's side have slipped out of the title race and are no longer in the Copa del Rey, although they are still alive in the Champions League.

Speaking after Spain's draw with Romania, Isco hit back at the criticism and committed his future to the club.

"It's been a very difficult season, but I don't think everything that happens to Real Madrid is the fault of James and me," he said.

"After the game against Las Palmas, I was angry with myself, but I don't think I'm the first player to have done that.

“We must vindicate ourselves on Saturday against Barcelona after the bad image that we gave at the Bernabeu.

“I’ll be at my best for the Clasico. I haven’t played much, but I’m not jaded.

“Winning at Camp Nou would be a great morale booster."

On his future, he dismissed the links with Juventus, insisting he will remain at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He added: "I’m very happy at Madrid and I want to see out the remaining two years on my contract."
