Hazard remains one of Zidane's priorities for the 2016/17 season

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard remains one of Zinedine Zidane’s priorities as Real Madrid prepare to tackle the 2016-17 season.

According to OK Diario, neither Madrid nor the French coach have lost sight of the Belgian star, who kicks off his European Championship campaign in his country’s game against Italy on Monday.

Hazard, who goes into the tournament representing one of the sides tipped to progress to the latter stages, is looking to kick on after a disappointing season at Chelsea.

Zidane feels the player would be an ideal addition to the squad, although the Premier League side’s elevated valuation could prove an obstacle to a potential deal. Signing him would become even more important if James Rodriguez and Isco were to leave the Bernabeu, though.

At the beginning of the year it was reported that the London club want close to 100 million euros for Hazard, a price which Madrid are not ready to pay.

They are currently involved in talks for French midfielder Paul Pogba and a deal to sign the Juventus man could drag on throughout the summer.

But Madrid’s interest in Hazard remains in tact, especially considering the possibility that they will be banned from signing players by FIFA after the current transfer window.
