Gareth Bale suffers knee spain and misses Valencia clash

Gareth Bale, who has been Real Madrid's hero in recent weeks, has suffered a sprain to his right knee and will miss their league game against Valencia on Sunday.

The Los Blancos forward bagged winners against Rayo Vallecano and Real Sociedad to keep them in the title race and forced Fernando's own goal which helped Madrid see off Manchester City and reach the Champions League final. 

However, his main weakness in Spain has been his frequent injuries, and now he has suffered another one. 

Madrid released a statement reading: "Following the tests carried out on Gareth Bale, he has been diagnosed with a joint strain in his right knee. His recovery will continue to be assessed."
