Florentino Perez thinking of bringing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Real Madrid

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who Silvio Berlusconi revealed on Sunday he wants back at AC Milan, could be Florentino Perez's next big signing. The Real Madrid president had a meeting on Saturday with the owners of Paris Saint-Germain in Qatar, where the Swedish striker's situation was talked about.

Various reports have noted that Perez's trip to Qatar was to negotiate a contract for ACS to take on construction work in the country, but in recent hours the name Ibrahimovic has also appeared.

PSG rejected the player's request to revise his contract, with the player wanting a 20 percent salary rise for the final year of his deal. Zlatan's representatives have suggested he will still stay, but the club are keen to accelerate his exit.

The French club's owner, Al Thani, would sell Ibrahimovic this summer, to save on his salary and to help PSG in the second phase of their growth, with his exit freeing up funds for an assault on the transfer market. And Real Madrid would be willing to offer the forward a more ambitious project than AC Milan

Rafa Benitez, Madrid's new manager, agrees with Perez that a No.9 does need to be signed. Fernando Llorente has been speculated as one possible signing. However, the Madrid president, who likes big signings, has now begun to look into the idea of signing Ibrahimovic, who has previously suggested he'd like to play for Real Madrid. Maybe because of the way he left FC Barcelona.

He is in the final year of his contract with PSG and has a salary of less than 10 million euros per year. Perez would be willing to offer a three-year deal with a salary of 12 million euros per season. As for the fee, Madrid will not pay more than six million euros for the player.

If a deal is done, it may be at the expense of Karim Benzema, who, despite being valued at the club, would be affected by the arrival of the Swede. Manchester United have expressed an interest in the French forward.
