Fernando Torres will sign for Atletico Madrid after failed AC Milan loan

After a short and sad spell at AC Milan, Fernando Torres is ready to wear the red and white of Atletico Madrid once more.

Chelsea loaned Torres to the Italian side for two years, but the Spanish champions and the Italian giants have reached a deal which sees Torres move to Madrid for 18 months, with Alessio Cerci returning to Italy.

Cerci came from Torino where he had a great season but has not been good for Diego Simeone's side since his big money move in the summer.

Torres moved to Liverpool from Atletico in 2007, where he was fantastic. But he joined Chelsea in January 2011 and was awful for the majority of his time at Stamford Bridge.

Milan coach Pippo Inzaghi had a meeting with CEO Adriano Galliani, when he said he wanted to reach a solution over the Torres issue, and the move to Spain will be announced shortly.
