Fernando Torres says Real Madrid injuries won't hamper them against Atletico

Fernando Torres says that Luka Modric and Gareth Bale's injuries won't have too much impact on Real Madrid when they take on Atletico.

Wednesday sees the capital sides meet in the Champions League quarter-final second leg, at the Santiago Bernabeu, with the score poised at 0-0.

Torres said: "In a team that has Iker, Sergio, Bale, Kroos... Modric is important but he doesn't make up half the team.

"Real Madrid have a very distinct style of play that is very difficult to defeat. The players that come in to replace Bale and Modric won't force the team to change its style."

The striker also says that his boss, Diego Simeone, is plotting a game plan that will help his team get the better of their rivals.

"The coach is preparing us to play in a way that will give us the edge," said Torres.

"You can see that we've played a different style in every meeting with Real Madrid. We hope that they're going to let us take the game where we want to take it."
