Del Bosque confirms intention to leave Spain job

After the news leaked that Vicente del Bosque was considering leaving the post as Spain national team manager, the coach gave an interview to radio station 'RNE'.

Del Bosque did say he intended to stay for the remainder of his contract, which expires July 31, but that he has "no doubts" that he does not intend "to stay as national team manager, but I must be discreet."

He also clarified that "no matter how the European Championships turned out, I had no doubts over my future" and that there are people "very prepared" to occupy the dugout following his departure.

The coach from Salamanca also took the chance to denounce those who have tried to undermine him in the media: "Some have tried to create turbulence and interfere for whatever reason. I have known the different media outlets for a long time and there has been a good relationship."

There has not yet been any contact between Spanish federation head Angel Maria Villar and Del Bosque, "I have not eaten with him nor had a meeting in his office. It is a topic that we have been discussing for a while."

Finally, regarding his future after leaving his role with Spain, he confirmed he will leave the world of football. At least the managerial side. Despite that, he put himself at the disposition of the federation "to help" in whatever way they should require.
