Cristiano Ronaldo desperate for Gareth Bale to stay at Real Madrid and not choose Manchester United transfer

Gareth Bale says that he's desperate for Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at Real Madrid, after the forward was linked with a move back to Manchester United.

Ronaldo joined from the Old Trafford side in 2015 and there have been murmurs that he might return to England next summer. 

However, Bale says that he would love Ronaldo to stay by his side at Real Madrid. 

"Definitely not," Bale said when asked if he wanted Ronaldo to leave, so he could take more of the limelight.

"He's shown what a world-class player he is year after year scoring the goals.

"Obviously he's a player we wouldn't want to see leave. Of course, (I) want to see him stay at Real Madrid."
