Christian Stuani agrees to move to Middlesbrough from Espanyol

Christian Stuani has agreed to move to Middlesbrough, a club in England's second division.

The Championship side will pay nearly €4million for the Uruguayan forward, though Espanyol will be forced to pass much of that money on.

Stuani is trading playing in one of the best leagues in the world for English riches.

His coach will be Aitor Karanka, formerly of Real Madrid. Stuani plans to say goodbye to his team-mates in Barcelona next week before finalising his switch.

The forward impressed last season for Sergio Gonzalez's team but struggled at the Copa America when he was brought on from the bench.
