Bale returns to Madrid training ahead of Deportivo

Gareth Bale will be available for Real Madrid’s final league game of the season against Deportivo La Coruna. The Welsh forward trained on Thursday with the test of his team-mates and has recovered from the knee injury which ruled him out of the win against Valencia.

Zinedine Zidane must now decide whether to include Bale in the team or not in Galicia. Madrid need to win at the Riazor to have any chance of winning the league, but they’re also reliant on Barcelona dropping points against Granada. For that reason, and with the Champions League final on the horizon, it’s not been ruled out that the 26-year-old could begin the game on the bench.

The bad news for Zidane was the absence of Jese Rodriguez, who missed training with flu. Lucas Vazquez was also unable to train due to the injury he sustained against Valencia, while Keylor Navas and Dani Carvajal were once again with the group. Borja Mayoral, Marcos Llorente and Martin Odegaard were involved with the first team.
