Bale: No Atletico players would get into the Real Madrid team

Gareth Bale doesn't think there is a favourite for the Champions League final this weekend.

However, the Welshman did add some heat to this weekend's Madrid derby in Milan with a quote which won't go down well with Atletico. "For me, no Atletico player would get into the Real Madrid team," he said in an interview with COPE.

Bale, who has had a good end to the season, feels the game in Italy will be "very different" to the one in Lisbon two years ago, when he scored one of the goals in Madrid's 4-1 win after extra-time. "To not win the final would be a failure," he added.

The former Tottenham man also killed off doubts about his future. "Offers from England? Madrid fans can be relaxed, I have three years left and each day I am more comfortable here," he said.

On Madrid's BBC attack (Bale, Benzema, Cristiano), Bale commented that "our role is also to defend. We have done it for the last six months and we will do it again on Saturday."

He also praised Zinedine Zidane, who, in his opinion, "deserves to continue. I am enjoying playing with him [as manager], I have more freedom to move around the pitch."

Finally, Bale responded to Diego Simeone's comments about Madrid playing on the counter-attack in the final. "Simeone thinks we will play like that, but the truth is we don't even know how we are going to play," he said.
