And according to French newspaper L'Equipe, Atletico have stolen a march on the Blaugrana and have reached an agreement with Gameiro. However, they are still having talks with Sevilla regarding a fee.

The report states that Atletico met with the player's agents in Paris 15 days ago. After missing out on Icardi, it's their latest attempt to sign a striker. Diego Simeone has asked for his signing and the club are working on a move for the man who's scored 67 goals in 145 games for Sevilla.

L'Equipe add that Sevilla want 40 million euros, but that Atletico hope to be able to do a deal for 25 to 30 million euros.
