Arsenal want Celta Vigo forward Nolito in January

Premier League side Arsenal will make a bid for Celta Vigo forward and Barcelona target Nolito in the January transfer window.

According to the Daily Mirror, Arsene Wenger wants to stregnthen his front line and is prepared to pay 19 million euros for the Spain international, although that is five million below the player’s release clause.

As explained by SPORT earlier this month, Nolito’s current deal runs until June 2017 and he has said if he leaves Celta, it would be for Barça. However, an attractive offer to play in London could change his mind. Arsenal have many Spanish speakers in their side — Monreal, Bellerin, Arteta, Cazorla, Alexis…

Nolito has began the season in fine form, but even before then he was on Luis Enrique’s shortlist. He’s viewed as the perfect replacement for Pedro Rodriguez, who left for Chelsea in August.

Wenger, according to the English media, has decided to change tact after missing out on Karim Benzema and Edison Cavani recently. He’s currently without the injured Danny Welbeck, too.
