The mystery surrounding James Rodriguez is yet to be resolved

James Rodriguez's future at Real Madrid remains in the balance and his progression is heading for stagnation given his lack of game time.

Zinedine Zidane still refuses to include the 25-year-old in his starting 11 although Real insist he will not be sold and his team-mates publicly support his stay at the club.

Chelsea and Arsenal remain in the hunt for James' signature and believe they can sign the forward before the close of the transfer market, but Zidane has said that he will remain with Los Blancos.

Meanwhile, Real president Florentino Perez doesn't seem willing to put the Colombian on the transfer market and will not sell the player for less than 78 million euros, the amount that was paid to Monaco in 2014.

On the surface, James' performances have improved but he is still not considered a decisive player as you might expect. In recent games he's been an alternative option and has given two assists to his team-mates.

But, personally at least, the former Porto player seems more inclined to stay with Real even though he isn't a regular starter.
