Six teams interested in Sporting's Jorge Mere -- including Barcelona

Sporting Gijon defender Jorge Mere, who will play in the U21 European Championships final with Spain on Friday, is a player who's being chase by six teams: Malaga, Valencia, Betis, Barcelona, Fiorentina and Sampdoria.
Mere was one of Sporting's better performers last season despite their relegation from La Liga, which opens the exit door for the defender and reduces his release clause.
Part of his clause would allow him to move on loan to a top flight side and the club won't be able to do anything about it, however they say they will only sell in the case that his release clause is met in full.
The 20-year-old has played 56 games in the Primera Division and is having a good tournament in Poland with Spain U21s, with interest not limited to his homeland, with Fiorentina and Sampdoria also monitoring the situation.
Mere says he doesn't want to think about his future until Spain's tournament is over. It looks set to be away from Sporting, though, with La Liga -- or Serie A -- too much of a draw for the young defender to say no to.
