Samir Nasri, the cherry on top of Sampaoli's Sevilla

Samir Nasri, the 29-year-old attacking midfielder, will undergo a medical on Wednesday ahead of his proposed loan move to Sevilla.

The French player did not feature in Pep Guardiola's plans at Manchester City, and will join the Andalusian side to fill the vacancy left by the departure of Yehven Konoplyanka.

The Ukrainian has moved on loan to Bundesliga outfit Schalke, after failing to impress new coach Jorge Samapoli at the Sanchez Pizjuan.

Nasri began his career at Olympique Marseille, before moving to Arsenal in 2008. His excellent performances for Arsene Wenger's team led to a big-money switch to Manchester City in 2011.

After some disappointing years at the Etihad, the player now has a chance to refind his form in La Liga.
