Samir Nasri chose Sevilla... for the women and the food!

The former French international sought advice from Pep, Navas, Silva and Nolito

Sevilla player Samir Nasri has recognised that he decided to leave Manchester City in the summer because he "needed a change" and he chose the Andalusian club because "there's good food and beautiful women."

In an interview with 'Football Club', he revealed that Pep Guardiola wanted him to remain at City: "He wanted me to stay but when in your head you need something new, after five years in Manchester... in my last season I had a lot of injuries and I wanted to start again, something fresh."

The French attacked had no doubts when the chance to move to Sevilla came up: "I knew I needed to come because if you know anything about football, you know that Sevilla have got the best out of many players, helping them get back to what thet used to be."

Nasri, in this sense, used the examples of Frederic Kanoute, Ever Banega and Ivan Rakitic.

The definitive push, though, came when he spoke with his Man City team-mates Jesus Navas, David Silva and Nolito about life in Seville.

"I asked them about the club, the city... and it was all good! There was good food, beatuful women (...) I spoke with Guardiola and he told me what a great manager Juanma Lillo is (Jorge Sampaoli's assistant). It was all I needed to know. It was perfect for me."
