Ronaldo on Ballon d'Or hopes: It's my best season, no doubt about that

Cristiano Ronaldo thinks it’s been his best year in football but said he won’t obsess over the Ballon d’Or.

The Real Madid star is expected to win the award for the fourth time after helping his club to the Champions League and Portugal to the European Championships.

“I’ve done everything for this season," he said in an interview with Telefoot.

“We won the Champions League, I won the Euros with Portugal. The vote [for the Ballon d’Or] doesn't depend on me and I don't want to be obsessed with it.

“But if you ask me if I want to win the Ballon d'Or, I'd say yes. This year has been amazing for me, with all the trophies. It's my best season, no doubt about that.”

Ronaldo’s start to the new campaign had been a slow one, but he responded to criticism on Saturday with a hat-trick as Madrid beat Atletico 3-0.

Zinedine Zidane’s side now have a four point lead over Barcelona at the top of the table after Luis Enrique’s men slipped up against Malaga.
