Osasuna 3-4 Sevilla: Sampaoli's high-flyers keep pressure on at the top

Sevilla won a topsy turvy game against Osasuna to protect their place as second in the league.

They are now one point behind Real Madrid with 42 from 19 games, the best they have ever achieved at the midpoint of a season, while Los Blancos are top with 43 but a game in hand.

That puts pressure on Barcelona, who have 38 after 18 games and face Eibar on Sunday night.

Sevilla were fortunate because the third goal in their 4-3 win came after a foul from Franco Vazquez, shoving a defender before heading home, with Pablo Sarabia adding the fourth in stoppage time.

Vicente Iborra notched the first two for Jorge Sampaoli's high-flyers, although he also scored an own goal along the way.
