Nike make move to end Real Madrid's relationship with Adidas

OKDiario have revealed that American company Nike have made an offer of 120 million euros per season to become the Real Madrid's new kit manufacturer.

The mega contract signed by Manchester United and Adidas -- which sees the German company pay the English club 96 million euros annually -- has left Real Madrid behind. Los Blancos receive little more than 40 million euros. That's provoked Nike, who produce Barcelona's kits, to move in on the European champions.

That's what's been explained by Eduardo Inda, the director of OKDiario, on El Chiringuito: "Madrid have a contract with Adidas and they've found out that United have signed a huge contract with the same brand. The club are the champions of Europe, while United have won nothing. That's provoked Nike into offering Madrid 120 million euros per season."

Madrid's relationship with Adidas began in 1998, when the club left Kelme to sign with the German brand. It was the same year which Barça signed with Nike, starting a commerical rivalry which still goes on today, almost 20 years later.
