Sevilla's sporting director says a new offer was tabled on Monday
The player has been offered a three year deal worth €2 million net per season
Sevilla’s sporting director, Óscar Arias, said this Tuesday that the potential signing of Jesús Navas “needs to be resolved now, one way or the other” but that he is optimistic that the winger will return to Sevilla after club made a new offer yesterday.
Sources have told Efe that Sevilla will pay Navas €2 million net for three seasons and that Arias expects good news because “this can’t go on for much longer either way”. Arias insisted this was not an ultimatum but that “both parties need time to plan” and that although Navas is the first option, the “Champions League qualifier” is coming up and that the squad needs to be decided soon, although “there is no rush”.
Arias also admitted that negotiations are ongoing for their main targets for the defence but did not name names. However, it is thought the club are trying to sign Danish centre back Simon Kjaer (Fenerbahçe) and Brazilian left back Guilherme Arana (Corinthians). Another loan deal for Stevan Jovetic remains “an option that was never easy but remains open”.
