Morata should be fit for Spain's qualifier against Liechtenstein

Alvaro Morata should be fit to take part in Spain’s World Cup qualifier against Liechtenstein on Monday, according to new La Roja boss Julen Lopetegui.

The Real Madrid striker was taken off injured in the first half of Thursday’s 2-0 win over Belgium and replaced by Diego Costa.

However, Lopetegui is confident that the former Juventus man will be available when Spain kick off their campaign to qualify for Russia 2018.

“Morata suffered a blow and he was felt a muscle problem, so we decided to change him as a precaution," Lopetegui said.

"Fortunately, he is alright and he should be fit to play the next game."

David Silva scored the two goals as the post-Vicente del Bosque era got off to a winning start against Roberto Martinez’s Red Devils.

Barcelona players Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto were all involved in the game.
