Morata complains: They were two points we needed to win the league

Alvaro Morata thinks the points Real Madrid gave up in Las Palmas could come back to haunt them in the title race.

Madrid still lead LaLiga, but they’re now only one point ahead of Barcelona after twice giving up a lead to draw 2-2 in the Canaries on Saturday.

There are only six games played, but striker Morata feels every dropped point may prove crucial in such a demanding fight for top spot.

“They were two points we needed to win the league,” he moaned after the game.

“We should’ve won the game, but we were unable to. Now we’ll have to continue working and give everything.”

“Now we have to analyse it, but what’s true is that we must always give everything in order to win the league.”

Despite his dramatic comments, Morata urged for Madrid to keep on going rather than “do dramas.”

He added: “We haven’t lost yet, we mustn’t do dramas but instead keep going.

“We must now win all our remaining matches and keep working hard.

“Now it’s time for the Champions League, but it’s true that we must improve on many things.”
