Marcelo injury: Defender hurts hamstring against Malaga

Real Madrid were dealt an injury blow when Marcelo had to be taken off in the 25th minute of their La Liga clash with Malaga.

The Brazilian left-back could not continue after picking up what appeared to be a hamstring strain and Isco was brought on for him, with Nacho switching from right-back to left-back and Lucas Vazquez dropping from the right wing to right-back.

Marcelo covered his face on the bench, seemingly in a lot of pain. Tests will be taken on the defender to see the extent of the damage.

Madrid will be hoping it is not too serious because they are also missing first choice right-back Dani Carvajal and before this game lost two matches in a row.

They face Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey at Balaidos on Wednesday and they must come from 2-1 down if they are to reach the semi-finals.
