Hypocrite Ronaldo shows that his only obsession is the Ballon d'Or

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has once again shown that humility is not one of his principle qualities.

The Portuguese international has bitten his tongue for a while, but on Saturday he tried to bite back at one of the most successful players in the history of the game, former Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez, for daring to say that Lionel Messi is better than him. Ronaldo felt humiliated and insulted and as soon as he could he replied by bragging about his three Ballon d’Ors, as if that was the only yardstick to measure a footballer’s quality.

The problem is that his outburst against Xavi brings into disrepute comments made by Cristiano himself, when he said that the Ballon d’Or was not an obsession. “Individual awards are always won without expectations, they are not everything. I'm not obsessed about whether I have a chance to win the Ballon d'Or. I have a chance to win it [this year] because I’ve already won the Euros and the Champions League, two very important trophies.”

These comments about Xavi reveal the 31-year-old’s true personality. He is someone who only cares about fattening his individual honours. It’s clear that he believes the team is there to boost his personal brilliance. Ronaldo’s been shown to be a hypocrite. He is obsessed with knocking Messi off the throne. The Ballon d’Or is his only target.
