Deportivo La Coruna vs Real Betis cancelled because of roof damage

Deportivo La Coruna’s clash with Real Betis on Friday has been postponed. 

The stadium roof was damaged by wind and storms and with another scheduled to arrive later in the day the council decided for security purposes the game could not go ahead.

“Because of the storm, and to guarantee the safety of the citizens, all sporting activity in the immediate vicinity of Riazor is suspended,” the council explained on Twitter.

“This suspension will affect the games being played in the stadium as well as at the Pazo does Deportes de Riazor.”
