Deportivo La Coruna keen on former Barça keeper Victor Valdes
Valdes is available on a free transfer after leaving Middlesbrough
David Soria, Salvatore Sirigu and Edgar Badia are also options
Former Barcelona goalkeepr Victor Valdes could be set for a return to Spain. After being linked with Malaga, the Catalan goalkeeper now has an offer from Deportivo La Coruna, who have no offered a new contract to German Lux.
After a season in which he performed well with Premier League side Middlesbrough, Valdes is an option for Depor as they look to sign a new keeper this summer, with his name one which would excite fans ahead of the new season.
According to La Voz de Galicia, Depor contacted Valdes a few weeks ago. Upon learning he would not continue with Boro, who were relegated from the England's top flight, they stated their intention to sign him.
Pepe Mel is in favour of signing Valdes but there are other options
Depor coach Pepe Mel has given his blessing to the signing. He feels the experience and quality of Valdes would be a boost to the squad as he prepares for his first full season in charge of the Blanquiazul.
If a deal for Valdes is not possible in the end, Sevilla's David Soria and PSG's Salvatore Sirigu (on loan at Osasuna last season) have been linked, as has Reus stopper Edgar Badia.
