Augusto Fernandez and Jose Gimenez suffer injury blows
The Atletico Madrid central midfielder and centre back suffered during the game against Deportivo de la Coruna
Atletico Madrid suffered two injury blows on Sunday afternoon when Augusto Fernandez and Jose Gimenez were taken off during the clash with Deportivo de la Coruna.
The former hurt the ligaments in his right knee, the latter has a thigh problem and neither will feature in the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich at the Vicente Calderon on Wednesday night.
Minutes after the Argentine midfielder Augusto was taken off after clashing with Deportivo’s Celso Borges, Gimenez had to be changed too, with youngster Lucas Hernandez coming on in his stead.
Atletico won the game 1-0 thanks to Antoine Griezmann’s strike, moving third in the table.
