Atletico Madrid close in on Monaco star Fabinho

Fabinho will remain at Monaco until December but in January he is set to move to Atletico Madrid after the two clubs reportedly reached an agreement, leaving Paris Saint-Germain without the Brazilian.
According to this information in Diario AS, Atletico and Monaco have "reached an agreement in principle" for a 45 million euro deal, although a source close to the Ligue 1 champions say nothing has been finalised.
Atletico are waiting to sign an insurance policy which would cover them against a possible injury, while they also must talk with Monaco about another big matter: Fabinho's participation in the Champions League group phase, as if he plays for his current side it would rule him out for Diego Simeone's side in the knockout phases after Christmas.

Fabinho, who signed a new deal until 2021 with Monaco last year, has been subject to a lot of speculation this summer, with PSG and Manchester United both credited with an interest -- the former also want Kylian Mbappe.
In the first week of July it was suggested he was close to signing for PSG, but Atletico have re-appeared on the scene and now appear closest to doing a deal for the former Real Madrid player -- however, there are still a number of details to be ironed out.
