Alaves' worst La Liga start in their history

LALIGA | Alavés - Villarreal (0-3) / | LALIGA.

Zubeldía's side have lost all four of their opening La Liga games

They are also the only side in the division that have not scored a goal

Deportivo Alaves have equalled their worst start in La Liga history after a 3-0 defeat by Villarreal, which is their fourth defeat in a row, without scoring.

You have to go back to the 1931-32 campaign to find a start to La Liga where they lost the first four games.

On that occasion, they lost against Racing Santander, Athletic Club, Real Sociedad and Real Madrid, but were able to end that run by smashing Espanyol 4-1.

The next year they started with victory, 8-2 over Racing Santander, but then lost six games in a row.

In recent years they have suffered similar strings of defeats, in 2001-02 and 2002-03 they lost four matches in a row, between week 24-27 and 34-37 respectively.
