Aduriz beats Cristiano Ronaldo's record for headed goals in La Liga

El Athletic empató a uno ante el Villarreal gracias a un tanto de cabeza de Aritz Aduriz, todo un especialista en el juego aéreo / | LALIGA

The Athletic forward has 48 goals with his head, Ronaldo 47

With the data available since 2003, Sergio Ramos is third (33)

Aritz Aduriz became the player since 2003-04 to score the most goals with his head in La Liga, overtaking Cristiano Ronaldo (48 to 47) with his headed goal in Athletic Club's draw with Villarreal on Sunday.

A long way back, in third place, is Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, with 33.

Aduriz scored his side's equaliser in the 76th minute of the weekend's game at San Mames, taking advantage of a cross from Balenziaga.

It saved his side a point and saw him move ahead of Ronaldo in the rankings of headed goals scored in the last 14 years, when records began.

Despite his years, at 36, Aduriz remains a threat to opposition defences and has scored nine goals this season and 154 since he returned to Athletic in 2012.
