But Article 155 has seen all of the region's embassies shut down
The Spanish government's activation of Article 155 after Catalonia's parliament voted to form an independent republic has seen measures taken in a bid to restore normality in the Catalan community.
One of the measures dictated by the government has been to close down all of Catalonia's embassies.
Pep Guardiola's sister is one of those affected by that decision and will have to leave her role in Copenhagen. Francesca Guardiola is Catalonia's ambassador in Denmark but has been removed from her role.
She was named the region's ambassador last March and after just eight months in the position has seen it taken away from her by the Spanish government.
