Xavi will present the trophy at the Euro 2016 final

UEFA have confirmed that former Barça midfielder and Spain international Xavi Hernandez will present the Henri Delaunay trophy before the Euro 2016 final.

"I can confirm it, Xavi Hernadez will be responsible for returning the European Championship trophy currently held by Spain," said UEFA's secretary general Theodore Theodoridis.

The 36-year-old will arrive in Paris on Sunday and attend the pre-game ceremony, accompanied by DJ David Guetta, to help bring the month-long tournament to a close.

Xavi made 133 appearances for Spain and was part of the teams that won Euro 2008, 2012 and the 2010 World Cup.

France and Portugal will meet at the Stade de France on Sunday (kick off at 21:00) after beating Germany and Wales respectively in the semi-finals.
