Martino: Messi now plays the same for Argentina as he does for Barça

Tata Martino claimed on Saturday that Lionel Messi is now at the same level for Argentina as he is for Barça, as well as stating his determination to win the Albiceleste's first Copa America since 1993.

'La Pulga' has scored five goals so far and is one behind Chile's Eduardo Vargas in the race for the Golden Boot, including a majestic free kick in the 4-0 semi-final win over the United States on Tuesday.

"Leo is the captain and represents the dream that the whole team will win [the Copa America]," Martino began, "Messi has had some good moments for Argentina and has found a way to play similar to how he plays for Barça.

The former Blaugrana coach also believes he can change the playing style of his team to achieve success at the MetLife Stadium against Chile on Sunday, but said that he will do it for the players and not himself.

"We cannot fail by losing another final, we'll try not to lose it. People want - and the squad wants - the same thing, which is why we're making an effort to change the outcome of last year's [Copa America] final," he concluded.

"Chile cause pressure and have developed into one of the best teams in the world."
