Gonzalo Higuain: "I didn't want to be with De Laurentiis any longer"

Gonzalo Higuain has been unveiled as Juventus' latest summer addition and admitted that he was happy to end his ties with Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis.

After playing three seasons in Naples, 'El Pipita' thanked the Napoli supporters, coach Maurizio Sarri and his team-mates and even asked for forgiveness over his controversial move to Turin for 90 million euros.

But when confronted about De Laurentiis, the former Real Madrid striker wasn't so friendly, with some suggesting that the Italian's attitude was detrimental in the Argentinian's departure.

"I had no relationship with him and didn't want to be associated with him any longer," Higuain stated.

The 28-year-old now turns his attention to helping Juve secure the Champions League next season, a trophy that has eluded the Bianconeri for the past 20 years.

"Obviously it's a dream [to win the Champions League] and we will work all year to achieve this goal," he concluded.
