Sergio Garcia set for emotional return to Espanyol
The striker is a club legend and was at Sunday's game against Sevilla in La Liga
Sergio Garcia was present at Cornella-El Prat as Espanyol beat Sevilla and will return to Qatar in the coming hours to sign the document which will allow him to terminate his contract with Al Rayyan. His return to Espanyol is imminent.
The forward has been in Qatar for a year and a half and the home supporters were excited to see him back in Barcelona on Sunday. His name was chanted and he posed for various photographs with fans.
His return is closed. Espanyol have not made an official announcement yet, but everything is ready to be sent of to the LFP and the RFEF to finalise his return.
Accompanied by his agent Magico Diaz, he first has to return to Qatar to rescind his contract. In returning to Espanyol, his wages will be almost symbolic until the end of the season.
