Deportivo sack manager Victor Sanchez after two league wins in 2016

Deportivo La Coruna have sacked manager Victor Sanchez del Amo just five months afer handing him a new deal.

The Galician side finished 15th in La Liga, four points above the relegation zone, but they stuttered in the second half of the season after starting the campaign in good form.

And after winning just two league games in 2016, coupled with rumours of dressing room problems, they have decided to take action and get rid of Victor Sanchez.

He took over the club in April 2015, replacing the sacked Victor Fernandez, and led them to safety against all odds, sealing the side's top flight status with a 2-2 draw at Barcelona on the final day of the season.

His second season in charge started well, but ultimately fell away, while he clashed with various first team players, namely Luisinho and Lopo.
