Italian reports suggest the Rome club are willing to pay €5-7 million for the forward

Espanyol have not received an offer from Lazio

For the second day in a row, reports in Italy claim that Lazio are prepared to sign Felipe Caicedo, the Espanyol forward who is surplus to requirements at the Barcelona club. The most recent reports are from the Corriere dello Sport.

According to the reports, the sporting director Igli Tare is just waiting for Keita Baldé’s departure to be confirmed before getting in contact with Espanyol.

The Ecuadorean has the physical profile the Rome club are looking for and would not be considered a non-EU player. The most interesting aspect of the report though is that Lazio are willing to pay €5-7 million for the player – a sum that will surely convince Espanyol to sell.

The player is not in Quique Sánchez Flores’ plans and just a few days ago he seemed set to join Girona on loan but the player could not agree terms with the club. In contrast, this shouldn’t be a problem for Lazio.

Espanyol have no knowledge of this interest.
