Zidane: Madrid are happy but it's not a morale blow for Barcelona

The French coach seemed happy with the last gasp point his team grabbed in Catalonia on Saturday

Zinedine Zidane was happy to leave Camp Nou with a point, but does not feel his Real Madrid’s last minute equaliser will provide a dent to Barcelona’s morale.

Sergio Ramos headed home in the 90th minute after Luis Suarez’s opener as Madrid maintained their six point lead at the top of La Liga.

“I don’t think so,” the French coach said when asked whether the goal could have an affect on Barça’s players.

“We have a six point [lead still], but nothing will change. The season is very long, but we’re happy for the point.”

Asked if the circumstances of the point left the taste of a win, he added: “No. It’s one point.

“A victory is three points. We can be very, very happy. It’s a point. We keep on adding to the points. Now we have to rest.

“We have suffered against a good opponent, a great team. And it’s not easy to get points here – we did that with character.”
