Rakitic: I would have liked to have done more in the game

The midfielder was disappointed to be the first player taken off by Luis Enrique in the Clasico

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic analysed the Real Madrid draw and the missed opportunity to cut the gap on the La Liga leaders.

Rakitic commented on his feelings after the game and the unexpected goal scored by Sergio Ramos in the 90th minutes.

“We had the Clasico under control. Arda [Turan’s] foul? It’s easy to talk about everything now,” the midfielder said.

With regards to his individual performance, the Croatian was disappointed to have been the first player taken off by Luis Enrique.

“The substitution is the manager’s decision. I would have liked to have done more in the game,” he said.

However, he praised his replacement Andres Iniesta: “Not bad to see Andres back again, though. He’s a unique player, really important for us.”
