Iniesta: Two points have got away and it's a bad feeling

The midfielder returned from an injury as a second half substitute but was left with a bad taste

Andres Iniesta says the draw against Real Madrid leaves a bad feeling after Barcelona failed to kill the game off at Camp Nou.

The midfielder returned from a six week injury absence in the game, coming on as a second half substitute to replace Ivan Rakitic.

Here’s what he said after the game…

ON NOT STARTING

The manager decides [who plays]. I felt good while I was in the pitch but [the result] is a shame. Two points have escaped.

You always want to play. We talk with the manager about a lot of things and it’s about the team. A player doesn’t change a team. You have to keep training, nothing more. The team did enough to win.

ON IMPROVING

There are always things to improve. During the course of a season you have to improve. The distance at the top is still the same. You just have to take it game by game, improving. Aside from the sensation left by the game, I think the feeling should be that the team did enough to win.

ON THE DRAW

Madrid are a dangerous team but I think we played well. Normally you’re left with what you see last, which is the Madrid equaliser, but I think that it’s a shame we didn’t add to the 1-0. The sensation is that two points have got away, but we have to continue moving forward, win games and hope Madrid slip up.

ON THE LATE GOAL

Madrid are dangerous [from set plays], they take advantage and we weren’t able to correct this subject.
