Exclusive: How Andres Iniesta felt after the Clasico draw

Andres Iniesta went through a lot of emotions during the Clasico against Real Madrid. He was able to reappear after six weeks out injured, but finished the game frustrated and hurt by the draw, with Madrid equalising in the last minute.

The captain, who came on in the 59th minute for Rakitic, was given an ovation. Barcelona were 1-0 up but the team needed nothing more than Iniesta to be there.

Iniesta left Camp Nou after 7pm, particularly hurt by what happened in the last minute. He said it to the media and later reiterated it to those closest to him: Barcelona deserved to win, but in an especially cruel ending they were not able to cut Madrid's lead in the table.

Iniesta told people close to him he was "pissed off" after the game. After such elation at getting back on the pitch, Ramos' goal was worse. Iniesta took the Clasico almost as a personal affair and was one of the Barcelona players most hit by what happened, although in public on social media he put on an optimistic face.

"It's difficult to accept an ending like that after such a big effort. I'm happy to be able to return and for the fans we have. Together we go on!" he wrote.
