The Italian picked his favourites for the Champions League

Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti feels that Real Madrid and Barcelona, Juventus and Roma's rivals in the Champions League last eight, "are favourites" for the European Cup because they have Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi respectively.

Ancelotti explained in an interview in the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport" on Saturday that Madrid and Barcelona are at the same level, despite the Catalans having a 15 point advantage over Los Blancos in La Liga.

The former Madrid coach is convinced, however, that Juve and Roma both have a chance over the course of two legs.

"Of course, Champions League games are decided by the small details. A one-off game is enough for a refereeing error to make the difference. Madrid and Barcelona are favourites due to their experience and because they have Ronaldo and Messi," he said.

"Juve and Roma are no favourites, because they're playing two of European football's powerhouses. But they have a chance."

Ancelotti, who won the Champions League with Madrid in 2014, also pointed out that Juve have more experience than Roma and for that reason gives them more chance of reaching the semifinal.
