UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin will honour Totti's "outstanding achievements"

Totti played his last game for Roma on Sunday, bringing 24 years of service to an end

Italian player Francesco Totti will be awarded the 2017 UEFA President's Award in Monaco in August, European football's governing body have announced.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has chosen to honour Totti for "outstanding achievements, professional excellence and exemplary personal qualities."

Totti, 40, played his final game (number 786) for Roma on Sunday against Genoa and received a stunning homage from his home supporters as he said goodbye after 24 years of service. 

The Roma great joins a long list of big names to be honoured with the award:
