Roma complete signing of teenager Mauodo Diallo from Barcelona

Despite the criticism of FC Barcelona's academy, it continues to be rated highly across the world. A sign of that is that important clubs from across Europe are regularly interested in players with a La Masia background.

In some cases, transfers end up being done, in others, there isn't so much activity, but the moves for the players are constant.

The most recent confirmed move is that of Mauodo Diallo, who is now a Roma player. Born in Senegal 15 years ago, he has been at Barça for the last four seasons.

He's a defender who has played to a good level, but he spent last season injured, halting his development at the Catalan club and leading to him missing minutes when he did return.

That prompted his agent, Nunzio Marchione, to look for a new club. And the chosen destination, from a range of offers, has been Roma.

Diallo has signed for three years with the Italian club and will play in the club's Primavera team.

At Roma, he will join another former Barça player, the Paraguayan Tony Sanabria, who is now 19.
