Rafinha's not the first player seriously injured by Nainggolan

Rafinha suffered ligament damage on Wednesday night at the Olimpico in Rome after a nasty challenge from Radja Nainggolan. The Barcelona midfielder had been on the pitch for just over a minute when the incident happened, having replaced Ivan Rakitic just after the hour mark.

The Belgian's tackle left Rafinha on the floor and he had to leave the pitch on a stretcher, with Barça then announcing the seriousness of the injury on Thursday morning.

Sadly, it's not the first time Nainggolan has inflicted a serious injury on an oppostion player. In fact, just six months ago the Roma midfielder was the protagonist of another chilling injury.

It happened in March when the Belgian clashed with the youn Chievo player Federico Mattiello, 20. The result could not have been worse. Mattiello, on loan from Juventus, came out of the incident with a double leg break. The images were not nice.
