Juve's Dani Alves cools fears over four month injury lay off

Dani Alves says his injury is “not as serious being reported on the internet” after breaking his fibula in Juventus’ 3-1 defeat to Genoa.

The Serie A club confirmed the former Barcelona right-back’s injury, with speculation suggested he would be out for as long as four months.

And while Alves will be sidelined for a significant period, he’s hopeful he will be back sooner than what has been reported so far.

"Thank you all for the messages of support and affection, unfortunately our profession being a profession of risk these types of accidents happen," he wrote on Instagram.

"I would also like to clarify to all my friends and family that it is not as serious being reported on the internet.

"I will be back soon as always, living my profession with the dedication that has led me to achieve a solid career and many successes.”

Alves left Barça for Juve in the summer after spending eight years at Camp Nou following his signing from Sevilla.
