Juventus, a possible destination for Cesc Fabregas

Juventus, having become the star of the summer transfer market following the transfer of Paul Pogba and the signing of Gonzalo Higuain, could be about to make another splash with Cesc Fabregas.

A source close to the Italian club did not deny the report published by 'Tuttosport', according to which the Catalan midfielder, whose presence at Chelsea will not be demanded by Antonio Conte, was offered to them by "an important agent" and with the knowledge of the Premier League side.

Juventus, who have received 105 million euros for the sale of Pogba to Manchester United, have bought the Bosnian Miralem Pjanic but continue to search for a top-class midfielder.

They have not ruled out the possibility of negotiating for Cesc, "though they will not throw the kitchen sink at the deal", according to the person close to the club from Turin.

Cesc, who joined up with Chelsea's pre-season preparations following their stage in Austria, played the full 90 minutes against Liverpool in Pasadena, did not feature against Real Madrid in Michigan, and was substituted after an hour against AC Milan.

It has been rumoured that new coach Antonio Conte's system is not suited to the former Barcelona player, and that Nemanja Matic will be of much greater importance in the Italian's scheme.

Conte firmly denied the speculation relating to a possible transfer of the Serbian footballer, who had been linked to both Juventus and Real Madrid, thereby informing the club that the player was a definite part of his plans.

The situation with Cesc Fabregas would be different, and not only because of the incorporation of N'Golo Kante.

His continuity has been questioned from the start of the summer, with speculation even linking him with a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, though this never transpired.
