Former Barça target Juan Cuadrado renews contract with Fiorentina

Juan Cuadrado, who was a Barcelona target throughout the summer, has renewed his contract with Italian side Fiortentina.

The Colombian international revealed the news on his Twitter account on Friday evening.

His new deal is thought to tie him to the Serie A club until 2019 - he is now more 'Viola' than ever.

Cuadrado said he is "happy with the renewal" and that he wanted to show his gratitude to "Alessandro Lucci, the Della Valle family and all of the club."

He especially wanted to thank "President Cognigni for his availability."

It is speculated that the 26-year-old will pick up an annual salary of €3million and his contract has a release clause of €35m, a figure which is less than Barça offered earlier this year for his services.
